Vaclav Havel – Politics and Conscience / Exhibition presentation
Twenty-six panels with Havel's statements, complemented by photographs related both to Havel and contemporary events, underline the continuing influence of Havel's ideas. "Vaclav Havel is usually referred to as a global celebrity...This exhibition, however, focuses on his ideas in terms of the challenges they pose for the present time," says Jan Hron of the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes (USTR), who prepared the exhibition. Havel’s statements from various texts relate to freedom and its absence and include his call for citizens to unveil the shortcomings of the present world. The exhibition will be presented by Michael Zantovsky, Director of the Vaclav Havel Library.
The exhibition is on view from September 19 till September 30.
